Custom moss art allows you to create a piece that fits your space, style, and story. Whether you're decorating your home, upgrading your office, or designing for a client, our made-to-order moss pieces are handcrafted to your exact vision.
At The Moss Shop, every custom project is built in-house — from cutting the wood frames to arranging each piece of preserved moss by hand.
Here’s exactly how the process works.
We start by understanding your space and goals. You can:
Let us know where you plan to install it, the look you want (lush, structured, flowing, neutral, vibrant), and any favorite natural elements such as sponge mushrooms, ferns, or stones.
We offer square, rectangular, and circular options — or we can create unique shapes to match your concept. Standard and oversized formats are available.
Our frames are fully custom and made in-house:
We’ll guide you in choosing from several preserved moss types:
We often combine multiple moss types to create depth and dimension. Natural accents like sponge mushrooms, preserved florals, ferns, stones, or driftwood can also be incorporated.
Once the design is approved, our team begins crafting your piece:
Each piece is designed with natural movement and balance — ensuring every moss artwork is completely unique.
Typical processing time: 3–4 weeks, depending on the size and complexity of the design.
All orders are carefully packaged and shipped via UPS Ground or FedEx Ground. We use secure packaging methods to protect your moss art during transit. Local pickup is also available from our Chicago studio.
